I celebrate the fact that we have the right to celebrate life, I just don't want to go to this one.

Sundays for me are not about hanging out with a bunch of drunk naked or half naked gay men. This is not a judgment call or a derision, simply stated its just not my thing. However, the SF gatherings are not so much the celebration of being support and having your family come out to spend the day with you and your friends and other gay men, but really they tend to be more of a big booze, drug and open sex-fest which is not really what I'm all about. So here's the rub.Despite growing up in SF (or possibly as a direct result of being the ONLY Native San Franciscan left in San Francisco), I've never wanted to go or have been to any of the huge Gay events like Gay Pride in SF and Folsom Street Fair or Dorey Alley.ĭon't get me wrong I support the Gay movement and have been to Gay Pride in Los Angeles, London, Brighton, etc. So naturally I have to meet him but the only day I can see him during the time he is here is Sunday, the actual day of the 'Fair'. OK so here I am on Sunday having forgotten that a good friend is in town for the 'Dorey Alley' fair from Australia.
